The "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" has made itself pretty loud on the smartphone market primarily for its 4K display. But how is the phone when it comes to the battery life? We have seen Sony do impressive work on many of its Xperia phones' batteries, but the problem with the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" is that its Snapdragon 810 chip isn't so much battery life friendly.
The phone comes with a massive 3430 mAh battery, which is 500 mAh more than Z5's (which by the way scored 73 hours on its battery life test). However, it looks like the Z5 Premium can't beat the Z5 when it comes to endurance rating.
Here are the results of GSMarena's battery life test on "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium":
For 3G talk time, the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" lasted around 20.5 hours. For web browsing, the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" actually ended up with a quite good result of 9.5 hours, but that figure is still 5 hours short compared to the Z5's. For its video playback analytics, the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" ran a 480p movie for seven hours before the power was down to 10%. This may not be very impressive, but at least it's very comparable to Z5's video playback results.
The overall endurance rating of the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" led to an 66 hour figure - not the best, but still above average.
As a conclusion, the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" can endure your typical smartphone activities without draining too soon. It may not last as long as the other phones, but with the high end specifications the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" has, it's actually not that bad. In fact, the resulting figures from the battery life test given to the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" are comparable to some of the well loved phones on the market. See tables here. Overall, the "Sony Xperia Z5 Premium" is equipped with great value. It's batt life may not match its overall greatness, but it's still not disappointing at all.
