The next episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will be life-changing for Stefan (Paul Wesley) and will feature challenges with his relationship with Caroline (Candace King).

According to Christian Post, in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 8, Stefan will be finding out that Caroline is pregnant with Alaric's (Matthew Davis) children. It was reported that this will cause some kind of rift in their relationship.

With that, it was also reported that the episode will explain how Alaric and Caroline will be in a relationship since it was shown in a flash forward scene in the previous episode that the two will be engaged. In addition, it is expected that Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore) will be causing more strain on Stefan and Caroline's relationship, and some fans even believe that Stefan might just end up with Valerie in the season.

It was earlier reported that the official synopsis for the episode reveals that Stefan, along with his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), will be executing a risky plan to end Julian's (guest star Todd Lasance) evil plans when their mother Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) throws a party for the anniversary of Mary Louise (guest star Teressa Liane) and Nora (guest star Scarlett Byrne).

Meanwhile, Australia Network News reports that actor Ian Somerhalder may have hinted that Season 7 will be the show's final season. In an interview, the actor said that not much has changed when Nina Dobrev decided to leave the show after Season 6. The speculation that the current season is the last for the show was fueled when the series was moved to a new timeslot starting January 2016.

However, executive producer Julie Plec said in an earlier interview that she thinks that the show will last more than seven seasons, but she also revealed that the production has not thought about that yet. Plec said that they will decide depending on the circumstances.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 episode 8 will air on The CW on Dec. 3.
