Lindsay Lohan's stepmother Kate Major recently caused a disturbance during a flight and was arrested when the plane landed.
TMZ reported that Major allegedly threatened a passenger and said she'd slit someone's throat, prompting flight attendants to move her to another seat. She then harassed the surrounding passengers. The flight attendants refused her request for some wine as they were thinking she was already possibly drunk, which angered her and then tried to record the FA after. She then threw her phone and charged toward the flight attendant. A passenger had to stop Major from hurting the FA. The pilots were then forced to divert the flight to New Orleans. She was immediately arrested upon landing.
Given that what she did was a federal offense, the Daily Mail reported that Major might face 20 years in prison. She was released on a bond of $25,000. However, she is not completely off the hook yet, as the court has ordered for her to surrender her passport to prohibit travel and that she enters a rehabilitation facility in Southern California also immediately.
Major and Michael Lohan have both lost custody of their two very young children by Children Services, two-year-old Landon and ten-month-old Logan. Their two kids are now under the care of Lohan's mother who has temporary guardianship, and they are granted supervised visits at their grandmother's home and only if they're wearing a monitor provided by Children Services. Major is no stranger to rehabilitation centers, as she has already done a 45-day stint back in June for her substance abuse.
Major has been known for her alcohol and cocaine problems, and it took its toll while she and now estranged husband were still together. Prior to that, she was also arrested for a drunken attack against Lohan.
