The British Royalty celebrations at Sandringham in Norfolk is certainly not your usual family get together. Popsugar takes us inside the royal holidays and gives us a peek of what family traditions the British monarchy has during the most wonderful time of the year.

Queen Elizabeth II's preparations for the Christmas celebrations start during Summer. She starts signing about 800 Christmas cards to be sent out to important people in including politicians and leaders from different countries.

To make sure everything is in place for the festivities, her royal highness goes to Sandringham between December 17 to 20.  One of the fun traditions that the royal family looks forward to is a soccer game between  Prince William and his brother Prince Harry, along with the people who are working at the Estate. This is said to have been a practice every Christmas Eve.

Perhaps while watching the brothers battle it out over a game of soccer, the members of the monarchy gathers for an afternoon tea. This is the children's chance to hang the last few ornaments to the Christmas tree. After this, everyone opens their gifts which results to 'a total uproar' according to Queen's nephew Viscount Linley.

The British royalty starts the Christmas Day with a hearty breakfast, then heads to the church of St. Mary Magdalene for an early service. The first one is an exclusive mass for the family, followed by another service at 11am, which is a mass open to the public. Princes William and Harry attended their first Christmas mass when they were already 5 years old, so Prince George is not yet expected to be present at the service this year.

To cap off the Christmas Day, the family gathers in the evening for a movie. The Sandringham ballroom reportedly turns into a huge theater room where the family just cozy up and enjoy each other's company. It looks like a typical holiday evening but with utmost royal treatment.
