"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 recently saw what could be the end and start of some of the biggest relationships on the show.

In "Things We Lost In The Fire," Maggie (Kelly McCreary) hooked up with Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti). Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) tried to get over her ex-wife Callie (Sara Ramirez) by leaning on Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and asking him to be her wingman.

Here are four of the relationships that could either fail or succeed in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 episode 9.

Meredith Grey and Nathan Riggs

Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) already tried to ask Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) out for some drinks. However, the latter refused because she wanted to remain loyal to Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).

In an interview with TV Line, Henderson said that it's highly possible that his character will continue to invite Meredith out for drinks. The actor added that Nathan could also end up dating other female characters on the show.

Owen Hunt and Amelia Shepherd

Owen and Amelia's (Caterina Scorsone) relationship is currently on the rocks. In "Things We Lost In The Fire," Amelia felt that Owen didn't want to let her in on his problems and issues.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McKidd said that it was never really Owen's intention to shut Amelia out. It's just that that's always been his personality when dealing with his demons.

Callie Torres and Penny Blake

Callie and Penny (Samantha Sloyan) are one of the newest couples on the hit ABC series. Now that Penny and Meredith are working well together, it's possible that Callie might feel neglected by her own girlfriend.

Jo Wilson and Alex Karev

Jo (Camilla Luddington) also left fans with a major cliffhanger after Alex (Justin Chambers) asked her to marry him. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Jo will continue with her relationship with Alex.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will premiere on ABC on Feb. 11, 2016.
