A new report about Acer Liquid X2 has surfaced on Wednesday, saying that the company's upcoming Android device is expected to arrive in Asia in January 2016. The news comes after SoyaCincau, a Malaysian tech website, has published the device's possible release date after the company confirmed it, iDigital Times said.

According to the report, it was said that Acer's upcoming Android smartphone will feature mid-range specs such as three SIM card slots and stable and lasting battery, among others. It can be recalled that Acer Liquid X2 was announced back in April. After the smartphone was officially announced, rumors of the device's release date has surfaced.

"Dual-SIM handsets are a rare commodity. Three card slots give Liquid X2 an advantage over other large manufacturer's flagship handsets, that is if you have any use for that many SIM cards. Acer backs the Liquid X2 with other solid specs that belong in every powerhouse phone such as a long lasting 4,000mAh battery and a pair of 13MP front/rear cameras. The Liquid X2 does not have the best screen quality. Its 5.5-inch 720p HD display won't be too stunning, but the extra battery power makes up for lack of resolution," the report said.

Latin Post reports that Acer Liquid X2's design is similar to that of the Sony Xperia device. It was noted, however, that although both devices share similar design, the former beats the latter because of its triple-SIM feature. Acer has yet to announce the pricing details of its upcoming smartphone.

"For those who are willing to try the Acer brand, they also have an entry level model, the Z330. The Z330 has a 4.5-inch screen with a quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM inside. A minimal 8GB internal memory is included, but it can be expanded using a micro-SD. It has a five-megapixel primary camera and a fix-focused five-megapixel secondary shooter, all powered by a 2,000 mAH removable battery," the report said.
