Reports of Leonardo Di Caprio got raped by a bear in his new film "The Revenant" went viral after Drudge Report claimed the said scene.

According to usmagazine.com, Drudge Report's headline says The new movie features a shocking scene of a wild bear raping Leonardo DiCaprio! The bear flips Leo over and thrusts and thrusts during the explicit mauling. He is raped - twice!"

However, Fox Studios quickly denied the claims. They said "As anyone who has seen the movie can attest, the bear in the film is a female who attacks Hugh Glass because she feels he might be threatening her cubs. There is clearly no rape scene with a bear." The studio firmly states that the bear in the film only wants to protect her cubs.

Real- life frontiersman Hugh Glass will be played by Leonardo Di Caprio in a movie based on a 2002 book with the same title. Glass was an explorer and fur trapper who got left in the wilderness after being attacked by bear during their American expedition on 1823.

In a report by ew.com [Entertainment Weekly], the bear has been part of the film's marketing strategy highlighting its scene on the film as well as on its trailer which can be watched below.

"The Revenant" will be released on Christmas day and as early as now, it's already receiving numerous recognition. The film's bear was nominated for Outstanding Achievement, Character Animation in a Live Action Production. Their bear will have to outperform the Indominus Rex from "Jurassic World," Smaug from "The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies" and The Hulk from "Avengers: Age of Ultron" on the same category.

"The Revenant" will premiere on December 25 followed by its worldwide release on January 8 next year.
