Hugo Boss, the famous German fashion brand, is reportedly looking for office space in the prestigious One World Trade Center.

Citing sources that intimated Realty Check about the news, New York Post reveals that Hugo Boss is apparently in "serious talks" with officials at the 1WTC and wants to lease about 100,000 square feet of space in the building.

Claus-Dietrich Lahrs, CEO of Hugo Boss, is considering moving the headquarters from its current location in the Starrett-Leigh Building in Chelsea to the World Trade Center site, according to The Real Deal. However, this won't be the company's maiden venture in the building as it already takes up retail space in the tower.

However, a source close to Hugo Boss told the Commercial Observer that the deal wasn't happening "anytime soon" and the reports doing the rounds are largely exaggerated.

News of the talks come just days after Hugo Boss posted a 3 percent increase in sales from its European stores. It also posted strong growth in the quarter ended March 31 and hopes on opening 50 stores around the world.

Sales in the U.S., however, slumped 2 percent.

"Thanks to a strong development in Europe, we were able to compensate for the challenging market environment, above all in North America and China. The investments in brand, distribution and logistics negatively affected our earnings development in the period, but will support sales and profit growth for the rest of the year and beyond," CEO Claus-Dietrich Lahrs said in a statement.

While the 1 World Trade Center has many prestigious tenants like Conde Nast, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America, the building has reportedly had trouble finding tenants. According to a November 2013 feature on Businessweek, only 55 percent of its total 2.6 million square feet has been leased.

One World Trade Center was recently named the tallest building of America by the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
