Meg Ryan's plastic surgery rumors have been swirling for years, and for the very first time, she spoke about it publicly to deal with the longtime controversy.  At 54, the "Sleepless in Seattle" actress insisted that she loves her age.

Speaking with Porter Magazine for its latest issue, the actress neither confirmed nor denied the reports but rather talked about how happy and content she is now. To slam the plastic surgery rumors, she insinuated that there are more important things to discuss than talking about how a woman changes her look,  Yahoo reports.

"There are more important conversations than how women look and how they are aging," she said. "I love my age. I love my life right now. I love what I know about. I love the person I've become, the one I've evolved into. In my life I've been scrappy as hell, but I feel easy with things now. I think that comes with age. We get stuck in these conversations about looks and hair color and our roots. It's interesting and funny for five minutes, but it's not that interesting."

Ryan's plastic surgery rumors started after she was seen with inflated duck lips and swollen cheeks, according to Examiner. In 2013, speculations that she went under the knife grew stronger when she stepped out on the red carpet at the 59th Taormina Film Festival 2013 in Sicily, Italy with a line-free face and pouty lips. There were also rumors that she had botox and lip implants.

Ryan's plastic surgery rumors may have been troubling her before, but not now the actress claimed, "I don't pay a lot of attention frankly. There's a lot of hatred in the world today, it's so easy to judge. Imagine being a hater, how stupid! My women friends are not sitting around talking about... well, sometimes there are conversations like that, but the people I value talk about kids growing up, what kind of world they are going into, what we are eating, what we are breathing."
