Tiger Woods was once a celebrated athlete and a star that people look up to, but after he admitted to cheating on his wife Elin Nordegren, his life did a complete turnaround. Now dubbed as a serial cheater, Woods is now contemplating his life, his career and of course his cheating ways and his past relationship with pro-skier, Lindsey Vonn. He reveals all this in an interview by Time, an E! Online report said.
The 39-year-old champion golfer tells Time that there were things that happened in his life that he wished would have turned out differently.
"In hindsight, it's not how I would change 2009 and how it all came about. It would be having a more open, honest relationship with my ex-wife," Woods explains. "Having the relationship that I have now with her is fantastic. She's one of my best friends. We're able to pick up the phone, and we talk to each other all the time."
The pro-golfer admitted that he and Elin know that the most important things in their lives are their children. He also said that he wished he would have known this way back then. He and Nordegen are now committed to co-partnering their children Sam Woods and Charlie Woods the best way they can, although it could be hard on the golfer because of infidelity issues, the E! Online report also said.
Woods also told Time that he would tell his kids someday about what really happened, when they are ready for it. "I've told [Nordegren] this, I've taken the initiative with the kids, and told them up front, 'Guys, the reason why we're not in the same house, why we don't live under the same roof, with Mommy and Daddy, is because Daddy made some mistakes,'" he tells Time. "I just want them to understand before they get to Internet age and they log on to something or have their friends tell them something. I want it to come from me so that when they come of age, I'll just tell them the real story."
The champion golfer is currently recovering from a back surgery and he is positive about moving on with his life. He has recently ended a three-year relationship with skier Lindsey Vonn because they had a difficult time seeing each other with their tight schedules.
"We never had time together," Woods said. "It's a relationship that was fantastic, but it just can't work on that level. It just could not work. It was doing an injustice to both of us."
