The former home of silent film star, Harold Lloyd, in Palm Springs is listed on the market for $3.29 million. The Louise Hampton Team, which listed the property, says that the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house was built in 1925 for the star of "Safety Last."

The one-acre property is nestled in the famed Movie Colony in Palm Springs. Many of the Hollywood bigwigs have built retreats here, including Cary Grant, Gloria Swanson, Jack Benny, and studio moguls Darryl F. Zanuck, David O. Selznick, and Harry Cohn. This colony of the stars is within walking distance from downtown Palm Springs.

This former home of Harold Lloyd was renovated extensively basing on Chinese feng shui to seek harmony within the surrounding area.

According to a Realtor report, the house has great features of modern amenities, such as a master suite with dressing rooms and baths, a 1,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room, a chef's kitchen, and hand-painted beams. The property also has a guest cottage overlooking the pool.

Lloyd's 44-room Greenacres mansion in Beverly Hills is considered one of the most expensive homes ever built in the area.

Harold Lloyd has played as an earnest and charming hero with his on-screen trademark of horn-rimmed glasses (without lenses) to prevent reflections created by studio lights. Without the glasses, Lloyd could not be recognized by his fans when he walks down a street, attends a theater, or goes into a store.

Unlike many other silent movie stars, Harold Lloyd remained rich throughout his life and didn't lose Greenacres to the Depression or a failing career.

The Legendary Estate of Beverly Hills said Lloyd has lived in Greenacres for the rest of his life, pursuing post-movie career interests, and keeping his vast property intact. In the later years of his life, he had one final plan for his beloved property. In his will, he bequeathed Greenacres along with all his personal possessions, vintage automobile, and film library to the public and gave instructions to make Greenacres as a museum.
