The 2015-2016 NBA season is in its first half, and the Los Angeles Clippers remain struggling. According to reports, the Clippers are in the process of making a deal which has something to do with Jamal Crawford's contract expiration.

The Clippers are apparently "making some exploratory calls," according to a Twitter post by Sam Amico of Fox Sports. The post further hinted that the team are on the process of calculating their available assets, Yibada reported.

"Sources close to the situation continue to say the Clippers are being opportunistic - saying if a solid player becomes available they'd do a deal - however, league sources say the Clippers may be more desperate than they'll admit, sensing that a major change is needed," said Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

These reports seem to hint that the LA-based professional basketball team is desperately in need of a reorganization of its roster in order to better define its chances in the Western Conference. In the midst of it all, Crawford seems to be the one to be left out.

Crawford showed his displeasure during the offseason as the Clippers revealed its fresh set of roster that includes Paul Pierce, Austin Rivers, and Lance Stephenson. The players described those who made it to the list as the ones who want to hold the ball in their own hands.

The element that affects Crawford's performance might be the Doc Rivers' ineffective system, according to Yibada.

Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated suggested that the Miami Heat continues to be an option for the NBA star, since the team holds the 13th place in offensive ratings.

The report also noted that Crawford may not be manning Miami Heat's bench when they have Gerald Green as well, hence the theory that Green will be treated to play with the Clippers as Crawford provides the Heat a tested scorer veteran.
