Robert Pattinson greatly influenced "Chronicle" actor Dane DeHaan on portraying the role of James Dean in their just released movie "Life."

"Life" is a movie based on the the close friendship that Dennis Stock and James Dean had formed while Dean is still paving his name in Hollywood. DeHaan who is playing the role of the iconic actor tells The Wrap how Pattinson who plays Life photographer Stock influenced him to play the part.

DeHaan commented on the outlet that [he]"probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to make this film if Rob didn't want to do it as well."

Meanwhile, DeHaan was adamant on playing the role because he sees Dean as a grand figure in Hollywood and somewhat a "delicate" role to handle.

"They reached out to me and I actually kept saying I didn't want to do it because James Dean has always been one of my favorite actors, and I hold him in such high regard, it was almost like holy material for me," DeHaan told the outlet.

DeHaan even added that, "In a way, I had too much of a personal relationship with him. I have had a poster of James Dean on my wall since I was in college. It seemed like a really daunting task, but then I started to realize that I was operating out of fear and that I always do these interviews and say, 'I want to do the roles that are most challenging or scare me the most.' When that opportunity actually came along, I was running away from it."

Meanwhile, Pattinson revealed that he and DeHaan are caught up defending their views about Marlon Brando and James Dean but Pattinson thinks that [he] "was more of a Brando person than a Dean person. I mean James Dean was just trying to be Brando."

Pattinson's fiancee FKA Twigs agrees with this notion and DesignnTrend reported that FKA also prefers Brando as well, "Probably Marlon Brando or someone like that. Even then, half those people were dead, so I knew the limitations of that relationship."
