"Castle" Season 8B may explore the "cosmic" connection between Rick Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Det. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), TVLine reported. In an interview with showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, they revealed that the upcoming episodes will show fans and viewers of the ABC crime drama of the time when Rick went missing.

In Season 7, an explanation behind Rick's disappearance was offered to fans and viewers of the show, but Hawley teased fans that there is much more to Castle's disappearance than was shown in the previous season. While many viewers know that Castle's disappearance had something to do with his friend, Bilal Khan, who turned himself over to Castle, it turns out something more happened during the time before his memories were wiped out.

The outlet noted on the possibility that the showrunners will finally explore on the said "cosmic connection between Rick and Kate," as both Winter and Hawley brushed up on this matter in earlier interviews. Meanwhile, Christian Post dismissed rumors that "Castle" Season 8 will return with a pregnant Beckett.

According to the outlet, Hawley admitted that they considered this pregnancy storyline during the first half of Season 8; however, they decided that this does not fit into the picture as of the moment.

"I understand that other shows have done that, but for us, because Beckett is so 'boots on the ground,' kicking a** and taking names, it's hard to imagine what a pregnant Beckett solving cases looks like," Hawley said.

"Castle" Season 8 returns on Feb. 1, 2016 on ABC.
