The 2016 Grammy Nominations were officially announced yesterday, and while some were expected, there are a lot of other artists who were considered 'snubbed' by the award-giving body.
R&B singer Omarion seems to think that he's one of them. He lashed out on Twitter saying that he deserved a Grammy nomination for 'Post to Be' in the Best R&B Performance category, and he believes that it is 'one of the greatest R&B collaborations ever.' Needless to say, he wasn't happy with the lack of recognition towards his end.
On his short Twitter tirade, he acknowledged that it's difficult to make a hit song and also shared about his struggles about being a veteran in the industry, yet he is treated like he is new to all of this. He says, however, that he isn't bitter for not making it to the list of nominees this year -- but he's seeing this as an encouragement to create a Grammy-worthy track for next year's nominations.
According to People Magazine, among the nominees for the said category are Tamar Braxton for 'If I Don't Have You,' Andra Day for 'Rise Up,' Hiatus Kaiyote for 'Breathing Underwater,' Jeremih for 'Planes,' and The Weeknd for 'Earned It.' Omarion doesn't have to worry, because he'll be joining Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna.
USA Today shares that Kendrick Lamar leads the 2016 Grammy Nominations with a staggering 11, and he is followed by Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. Other snubs also include Drake's viral hit 'Hotline Bling' and Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney's collaboration, 'FourFiveSeconds.' Big snubs were also made for Carly Rae Jepsen's highly-acclaimed album "Emotion" and Fetty Wap as best new artist. Next year's awards ceremonies will definitely be an interesting one with the huge set of surprises from the nominations alone.
The 2016 Grammy Awards will be held on February 15, 2016.
