"Switched at Birth" season 5 will introduce new issues for all of the characters on the hit ABC Family series.
In "The Call," Bay (Vanessa Marano) will receive a call from one of her family members, and it's possible that it has something to do with Toby (Lucas Grabeel) and Lily's (Rachel Shenton) baby.
According to Youth Health Mag, Toby and Lily's child was born with Down Syndrome and it's possible that something might have happened to him.
Meanwhile, some fans are also speculating that one of the characters on the show may be killed off.
In the previous season, Bay and Daphne's (Katie Leclerc) suffered from a heart-related illness.
Now that the Kennishes are no longer doing well financially, it's possible that John's (D.W. Moffett) health is no longer being prioritized.
As of late, there are more speculations on why called Bay while she and Daphne were in China.
Fans are also curious as to the reason why the character called, and why Bay's face seemed to have suggested that something negative just happened.
In an interview with The Wrap, executive producer Lizzy Weiss said that the major cliffhanger from season 4 will be revealed very early on in the season.
The series creator also explained why it was necessary for them to include a ten-month time-jump during last season's finale episode.
"The points was that it wasn't the six-week summer thing that the girls had anticipated. And ten months seemed like a long enough period that Bay could become a tattoo artist and pick up some Mandarin, and Daphne could get a job at the clinic. Just long enough that you could start to put some roots in a new country," she said.
"Switched at Birth" season 5 will return to ABC Family sometime next year. The series also stars Lea Thompson, Constance Marie and more.
