As all of you know, One Direction is taking a big break after their incredible five years in the spotlight. The band literally went into a roller coaster ride on their careers and their personal lives, but they assured their fans that it is not yet over for the British boyband.
The band consisting of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, performed their last show in the U.S. during KIIS FM’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, before going on a hiatus starting March 2016.
Payne told their fans on their sold-out show, "To be honest with you, this show is kind of an important one for us. This is going to be the last time for a little while. I feel myself getting a little emotional."
According to Payne, as interviewed by E! News, "I think the point of making the record to go on the break was to kind of give fans a thank you for this year, to wrap up what we've been doing for the last five years. It's been great for us. There's more to come. We obviously want to tour all these songs. We love them so."
The boys decided to take a break to take care of some personal things. The departure of Zayn Malik in the band and his launching a solo career is when and where it started. After Malik’s departure, the band released a new album, entitled “Made in the A.M.”, and performed the rest of their tour as a quartet.
The boys will be heading home to spend time with their families this holiday season, as confirmed by Horan. "We're just looking forward to heading home. I personally haven't been home in a while and that's going to be good to see the family and eat like crazy."
