The "Hunger Games" fever has ended when the final installment was shown last month and the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" drama in Panem has ended...or has it?

Reports came out that Lionsgate wants to make "Hunger Games" prequel and very serious about it. Variety says that Vice Chairman Michael Burns are exploring ideas on the franchise.

Speaking at the at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York on Tuesday, Burns indicated that the franchise "will live on" but gave no further details were given as to how it would come about although there were already some speculations.

It may be that there will be arenas involved as Burn himself noted that the younger fans have not really seen it in the latter pics. "If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas," he said.

He told Variety, "Whatever extensions of 'The Hunger Games' brand we pursue, the intent is not to glorify violence by arbitrarily telling arena stories, but to continue Suzanne Collins's exploration of the concepts of just war theory."

At this point, Lionsgate has not made any comments or final annoucements on any spinoffs.

The fourth film, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2," is still behind other installments in the series at the same point of release, currently with $227 million at the U.S. box office three weekends after it was first shown while international grosses have hit nearly $300 million.

The film grossed just over $100 million in its opening weekend, also behind earlier segments which is a disappointment, Burns tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Aside from "Hunger Games, Burns also spoke of how Lionsgate studio aims to have reboots, prequels or sequels of its other big franchises, including "Twilight," "The Expendables" and "Saw."

And referring to the "secret sauce" of the studio when it comes to developing the projects it gets its hands to, "I think the town has woken up to the fact that when they sell property to our major competition, a higher price will be paid but it will never be made," said Burns.

How about you, do you want to see more of "Hunger Games?"
