Game developer CD Projekt Red is planning to launch its upcoming video game "Cyberpunk 2077" in late 2016, a report from Gamespot said on Wednesday.
"CD Projekt Red wants to publish the end of 2016 cyberpunk 2077. This is after a source close to the company confirmed Gamereactor Germany. Officially, there is still only a PC version, and it is more than likely that the title also appears for PS4 and Xbox One. However, it could be that one of the two consoles publisher snapped the game as an exclusive title," Gamereactor said.
It can be recalled that "Cyberpunk 2077" was previously announced by the company back in October 2012. It was said that the company won't release any details or discuss the game until 2017. Recent reports pointed out that the company now wants a late 2016 launch date for the game. It should be noted, however, that the company has not yet confirmed the release date of the game, as indicated in the report.
Earlier this month, CD Projekt Red said that a team of game developers are concentrating on "Cyberpunk 2077." The company said that while the development of the said game is ongoing, it will continue to provide support and new contents to its popular game, "The Witcher 3."
The company also assured fans of "The Witcher 3" that the game's second expansion, called the "Blood and Wine," is expected to be rolled out in 2016.
"Other details from the report include the fact that, like The Witcher 3, the game will feature a non-linear, adult story, with a player character who has grown up on the road and want [sic] to free themselves from this misery." And it's not just the characters in the game who will have augmentations either, as the report says that weapons and items can also be assembled and extensively modified," Gamerant said.
