The Oneplus X phone has the Oxygen 2.1.3 update until now. There are no Android 6.0 Marshmallow news yet.

No specific date has been offered by OnePlus, the Chinese phone manufacturer, to its OnePlus X phone users with regards to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow but, an Oxygen 2.1.3 update is available at the moment.  It is, so far, the latest update of its own flavored Android 5.1.1 Lolipop.

OnePlus has just rolled out its latest OS update, for its OnePlus X phone, dubbed as Oxygen OS 2.1.3, which is said to offer a fix on an issue being experienced by its users that involved the YouTube playback issues and keyboard lag in Google Chrome.

Many OnePlus X users do not find this update as major one, but it will not really hurt so much if OnePlus X users download the 20MB update, GSM Arena reported. However, users are still advised to use a stable Wi-Fi connection in order to avoid downloading issues or incur additional charges from their network carrier.

OnePlus X users are also happy to learn that the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow is getting prepared for a first quarter 2016 roll out.  A former software partner of the Shenzen-based phone manufacturer said that several devices have already upgraded their OS from CyanogenMod and many are now using the Oxygen OS, which is based on the Android M, Cool Smartphone reported.

OnePlus latest models contains fingerprint-sensors, which is not natively supported by Lollipop, but will be enabled by Marshmallow.  OnePlus specifically said that they will not develop any fingerprint-sensor API anymore and will just use the Marshmallow.  Other notable features of the Android 6.0 are faster Chrome browser, improved Now on Tap feature, new security feature and a verified boot system.

OnePlus is currently advising its customers to wait for the notice with regards to the updates.  It is estimated that only 10 percent of users will be getting it first.
