"Star Wars: the Force Awakens" actor Harrison Ford is clearly not too impressed with today's youth.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Star Wars' Hans Solo expressed that the present generation is too "self-obsessed."
He asserted, "Do I think our youth can make a difference in the world? No, not really. They're too self-obsessed. They have no desire to seek the truth."
Ford shared his thoughts about the act of taking selfies. He dubbed it as "ridiculous."
"What is a culture that obsesses over a number of 'likes', or the number of followers one has on social media? It's a disaster!" he said.
Ford emphasized, "Self-obsession is devouring our need to find answers."
While the 73-year-old actor is not pleased with today's youth, he seemed to be impressed with the new generation of Star Wars actors and actresses.
In a separate interview with Sky News about the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" film, Ford said, "They're wonderful performers; they're unique and really good at what they do."
On the same dialogue, he was also asked to compare directors JJ Abrams and George Lucas. With his signature dry humor, he responded that comparing the two is like comparing "apples and oranges."
He explained that Abrams and Lucas have different "texture, taste and history." "They grow on different kinds of trees," Ford said.
Additionally, when the actor was asked to spill some details about the upcoming movie, he responded, "I think it's interesting that people come to experience the story rather than be told about it in any way, shape or form."
Ford is set to return on the latest version of the franchise, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". It is directed by JJ Abrams and is already breaking sales records even before its release. The newest episode of Star Wars will hit theaters on December 16.
