Many homes nowadays are compact, multifunctional and practical to live up to the fast-paced urban life that most of us have gotten accustomed to. But what if you have grown tired of living in the city and you want to take your home to a place where you can unwind in?

This modular floating home that a Portugese engineering group has built gives the chance for guests to occupy this mobile home either for a weekend fun or as a private abode for a small family.

Like the modern houses we have today, this homeboat is constructed with eco-friendly materials and does not take much from the environment. 'Floatwing,' as its makers call the boat, can be customized based on the owners' liking. There are 4 structural plans and there are different interior layouts to choose from.

The interior space of the boat can go from 33 to 59 feet, and it has a 20-feet fixed width. Residents can decide to put two outboard motors that can entirely or partially use solar power, giving the home a speed of up to 3.5 miles per hour. The boat can also run without a motor if the owner prefers it so, but it would require towing the home from one place to another.

This unique house is not only fancy to look at. The makers made it so functional that if you fully charge it, it can remain on its own for over a week, giving life to both motors and its appliances inside.

According to freshome, the design of this boathouse is modular, so it can be built in any part of the world. This mobile home is a combination of form and function, paired with the chance to travel to almost any place and call it your home. Truly, this innovation brings so much promise.
