The Minnesota Timberwolves has been emotionally down lately because of the passing of their head coach Flip Saunders. However, instead of being totally demolished by the event, the players instead gave their best for the team and for the memory of their coach. With a 9 to 12 standing and noticeably remarkable performance of Kevin Garnett, it seems like the Timberwolves are slowly getting back into the game.
This promising team has been known for the depth of young talent on the roster that is why some other teams are interested on doing some trade deals with them. And hot topic in the rumor mill right now is the attention that other teams are giving to Shabazz Muhammad. According to Adrian Wojnarowski on his twitter post, he stated that, "Several teams intrigued with Shabazz Muhammad."
One of the said teams that is very enthusiastic about Muhammad is the Nets. It is said so for "Muhammad would fit into the Nets strategy of making up for lost draft picks by going for young, athletic players who haven't been able to find a fit on their previous teams. The UCLA product has only played one game of more than 25 minutes so far this season, a 26-minute stint on Monday when he scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds," said netsdaily.
However the idea of Muhammad transferring to the Nets is not an easy thing to do. For first and foremost the Timberwolves GM, Milt Newton, is not moving their guy anytime. According to Darren Wolfson, he posted on his social media account that, "By the way, heard the Nets and Lakers are two of the teams that like Shabazz. He has fans. But Milt is not moving him anytime soon." Secondly, "the Nets don't have any they can trade until 2020," said netsdaily.
Guess we would just have to wait for things to gradually unravel and for this rumor to be fully validated.
