The identity of the original creator of the controversial and widely used digital currency, Bitcoin, has always been in the dark. The only sure information that journalists and bitcoin enthusiasts have uncovered, so far, is the pseudonym of the creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
There were recent news about the possibility that a man named Craig Steven Wright could be Nakamoto himself.
Gizmodo leaked transcripts that linked Craig to the Bitcoin creator's identity. The transcripts confirms that Craig is Satoshi's real identity. The information was even backed by Wired.
Craig makes a statement in a May 2013 blog post titled "Morning Manifesto" where he he writes:
"I will make a solution to problems you have not even thought of and I will do it without YOUR or any state's permission! I will create things that make your ideas fail as I will not refuse to stop producing. I will not live off or accept welfare and I will not offer you violence. You will have to use violence against me to make me stop however."
After the information leaked and went viral in the internet. Craig's suburban home was raided by more than 10 Australian policemen. A Reuters reporter asked them why they were entering the residence and if it was related to the Bitcoin incident, they answered the question and implied that they were only "clearing the house."
Craig's affiliations can be easily linked to the crypto-currency. He is currently the chief executive of DeMorgan Ltd., "a pre-IPO Australian listed company focused on alternative currency."
Police raided Craig's home was issued by an investigation conducted by the Australian Taxation Office. Police confirmed that the raid was not related to the documents that leaked in the internet.
It also seems that Wright was anticipating the raid since he was planning to move from their Sydney home to Britain on Dec. 22, 2015.
