After putting his mansion in Weston, FL on the market for $4.8 million in March, retired NFL cornerback Patrick Surtain finally closed a deal for the mansion for $4.25 million in September. But the ex-Dolphin isn't leaving the Sunshine State yet.
Surtain has just purchased a home which is not far from his former Weston pad in Plantation, FL for $2.15 million.
According to the Realtor's report, compared to his previous home which measures nearly 12,000 square feet, his new place in Plantation is a bit smaller but modest. The new 6,456-square-foot estate has five bedrooms and six and a half baths.
The open floor plan of the property includes a modern kitchen with great features of ash wood modern cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, slick white countertops, including a built-in wine chiller located next to the refrigerator.
The house also has a den with a built-in wet bar, hardwood floors, and French doors that lead to a backyard with plenty of natural light that goes to the interior spaces.
The master suite has a large walk-in closet with a mega-sized master bath and tons of built-in shelves. The suite is large enough for two full-size vanities, a chandelier, a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower with dual shower heads.
During Surtain's 11-year career in the NFL, the three-time Pro Bowler picked off 37 passes and was recently named a member of the Dolphin's 50th Anniversary Team.
The Real Deal confirms that former Miami Dolphin player, Patrick Surtain, purchased a new home in Plantation, FL for $2.25 million. The Real Deal also revealed that the 6,556-square-foot home is beautifully located at 1600 Southwest First Court in the Heritage Estates community.
Before Surtain finished his pro football career with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009, he played the cornerback position for the Miami Dolphins from 1988 to 2004. Surtain has played in the annual Pro Bowl three times during his tenure with the Dolphins.
Manager Frank DeLucas of DSL Construction & Investors was the seller of the house.
