"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be hitting the big screen in a week and fans are more that psyched to know what's in store for them. It's already been a known fact that both Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are siblings, which was revealed on "Return of the Jedi."

Fans might be expecting Leia to use The Force during the latest "Star Wars" episode; As per Geek Tyrant,however this is from from being possible.

Fans may wonder on why Leia won't be using The Force, the answer however is purely out of choice. During an interview with IGN, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director JJ Abrams tells the press that "it was Leia's choice."

"It was a great question, and one that we talked about quite a bit, even with Carrie [Fisher]...Why did she not take advantage of this natural Force strength that this character had. And one of the answers was that it was simply a choice that she made, that her decision to run the Rebellion, and ultimately this Resistance, and consider herself a General, as opposed to a Jedi. It was simply a choice that she took."

During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the persona behind Princess Leia's character, Carrie Fisher was asked on whether she thought of quitting the series. She then answered that leaving "Star Wars" would be something that she would never do as she's been working with the film for 40 years.

"Never. I've been this character for 40 years, why would I not? Because I'm going to be associated with Princess Leia more? There is no "more." And I'm a female working in show business, where, if you're famous, you have a career until you're 45, maybe. Maybe. And that's about 15 people."

During the interview, the 59-year-old actress also shared that Leia is already an adult who goes through tough times.

"She's an adult. She's someone who's had experiences that were difficult. It's not as funny anymore."
