TAG Heuer joins the Android smartwatch game through their Tag Heuer Carrera Connected.

The classic watch launching their version of smart watch is something inevitable. As what TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver has said during the launch, it is something that is formed from more than just mere desire.

In a review by Digital Trends, the Carrera Connected is said to be literally massive as it is at least 4mm larger than most smart watches, including Apple Watch and LG Watch Urbane. It is also the biggest among all the watches TAG Heuer has released through the years. Despite its size and material which is grade 2 titanium, the device's body is relatively light. The strap comes in varied colors and is made from rubber. The microphone is on one side of the watch, and mounted in the plastic baseplate is the charger holes.

Specs for resolution are yet to be confirmed according to digital trends. However, in terms of functionality, it is said to perform similarly for both Android and iOS. TAG promises that you could use your Carrera Connected for 25 hours straight before the battery runs out.

Since it is a TAG Heuer watch, buyers can expect a huge price tag. It is sold in the US for $1,500, and in the UK,  £1,100. It could be considered pricey for an Android Watch, but it is the usual price for TAG Heuer. This might be the problem with the Swiss watch's version of the smart watch, the other smart watches seem to be able to do the job, and the Carrera's plastic rear cover and rubber strap would make you hesitate to buy it for its price. The only compelling reason to choose this over the other watches with more appealing design and price would be the fact that it is made by the classic watch maker.
