This year's BBC Music Awards big winner is no other than Hello hit-maker Adele. Last December 10, the artist took home two titles, the British Artist of the Year and BBC Live Performance of the Year.
However, she wasn't around to personally accept the awards. Instead, she recorded a video message to thank her supporters. In the clip, the artist said, "Sorry I'm not there. I'm absolutely gutted but thanks so much for my award. Thank you so, so much. I hope you're all having a wonderful night."
In the same event, Taylor Swift was named as the International Artist of the Year but unfortunately, she wasn't able to attend too.
On her video message, Swift explained, "I wish I could be with you right now but I'm on tour in Australia."
She continued, "Thank you so much for this BBC Music Award for International Artist of the Year. It was an amazing highlight of the year for me getting to play Big Weekend in Norwich. You guys have been so supportive and wonderful. Thank you so much, it's amazing."
Other artists awarded later in the evening include Jack Garatt who won the BCC Music Introducing Artist of the Year award and Hozier whose hit Take Me to Church was voted by the public as the Song of the Year.
Although Adele and Swift were absent from the show, a lot of other talented performers graced the event. The BBC Music Awards featured performances by Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Stereophonics, Jess Gylnne and One Direction.
The Foo Fighters, Jamie xx, Ed Sheeran, Foals, Florence and the Machine, Prince and Lionel Richie were also nominated for the awards.
Recently, big winner Adele's album 25 broke sales records all over the world. The Hello singer is reportedly performing on the X Factor finals this coming weekend.
