"The Vampire Diaries" will not have Nina Dobrev anymore.

Nina Dobrev surprised everyone with her announcement of leaving "The Vampire Diaries," the supernatural drama TV series created by Julie Plecs and Kevin Williamson. The announcement was made at the end of its sixth season, and now that the seventh season is underway, Dobrev's absence will definitely make a great impact on the show.

Nina Dobrev's return to "The Vampire Diaries" began when the show was getting low TV ratings -- a 33 percent drop for The CW. Based on an interview done by Entertainment Weekly, it seems that Dobrev's return to the series is merely a speculation, as the actress has no plans at all to return. According to Dobrev, while her decision was made during the show's last season, she was able to fulfil her obligations to the show as part of what she had signed up for. For her, it was a wonderful experience; however, everything must come to its end sometimes, the Interview Magazine reported.

As explained by the actress in this interview, Dobrev stated that she has made other plans after this TV series, but she is not rushing things when it comes to accepting another role. As detailed by Dobrev, she talked about how she is dealing with her time, including how she is looking through all the offers to find something which she may feel the perfect and most likely aligned with what she intends to do with her career.

Nina Dobrev confirmed that there are a number of offers for her to consider, yet she feels that she does not have to work immediately. She said that she would rather wait for something good, something that she will be excited about, instead of going for some project just because of the money involved.

"The Vampire Diaries" mid-season finale aired Dec. 10 on The CW.
