Country music sensations Garth Brook and wife Trisha Yearwood are selling their Malibu mansion and are marketing their home as a pocket listing for $7.5 million.
The couple is selling because they are moving to Nashville from their long-time abode in Oklahoma. Moreover, their youngest daughter will be starting college this fall. As empty nesters, the move makes pretty much sense.
"There's an energy about Nashville that I love and I miss. And it's so awesome right now. It has a new energy that's so cool. And it makes sense because it's been a bit of a challenge to not live there and to have to fly in and out for work," Yearwood told CMT.
"Garth and I have always sort of been gypsies. If you do this for a living, home for us is really just where we are together," she added.
"It's been the right thing to be at home. But Garth and I both feel like the job of being home every day and going to every soccer practice, that job is coming to an end for us. And so it's time for us to do the next thing, and we're excited for whatever's next for us," she added.
Yearwood recently listed her Brentwood, Tenn., home for sale with a $2.2 million price tag. But, the listing has since been removed. Maybe Yearwood changed her mind about selling that home. The couple is also selling 2,000 prime acres of real estate in Oklahoma since they are moving now, according to the Irish Independent.
The Malibu residence is reportedly being marketed by Kathrin Nicholson of The Agency, according to the Real Estalker (via Variety).
The listing at The Agency reveals that the home is a 4,236-square-foot single-family house, comprising of four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
The ranch-style home sits on a half-acre lot and provides access to a few hundred feet of private beach frontage.
Interiors of the home feature hardwood and stone-tiled flooring, beamed ceilings and large glass doors and windows.
Living spaces include formal drawing and dining areas, a sitting room and a family room. There is a gourmet kitchen where Yearwood whipped up all the delicacies, given she had her own cooking show "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" and also has three cookbooks to her credit.
On the Ellen DeGeneres show last year, Brooks gushed about his wife's several talents. Speaking of her culinary abilities Brooks said:
"I'm part of the working wives club. I lay out at the pool with the other husbands. She's the bomb, man. She does it all."
The home has an open lanai with a basketball court and ample seating areas. There is a five-car parking garage too.
