"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 could see the official reunion of Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Valerie (Elizabeth Blackmore).

In the previous episodes of the hit The CW series, fans already had an idea that Stefan and Valerie will get back together.

First, Caroline was revealed to end up with another male character in the three-year time-jump. It was later on revealed that she's also pregnant with Alaric's (Matt Davis) twins.

During an interview with Variety, executive producer Julie Plec confirmed that Stefan will indeed end up with Valerie in the time jump.

"I can definitely tell that not a lot of people will be all that happy about that. Stefan and Caroline were supposed to be in this beautiful relationship and yet, we saw in the beginning of the season that she refused to speak with him and now he's with Valerie. You have to ask the question: What came first, her fury or her relationship?" she said.

Meanwhile, Plec also talked about Bonnie's (Kat Graham) fate in the upcoming time-jump. It was previously revealed that Bonnie will end up in a mental institution three years from the present time, according to Design & Trend. Plec said that the events that will lead up to this moment will be revealed when the series returns next year.

"Bonnie is in the middle of a newer mystery. What we've seen of her is she appears to be in some kind of mental institute or under some deep psychiatric care and seems to be in love with Enzo. That's something that is a mystery that we'll get to unravel during the winter season as we start telling stories about how all that came back," she said.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will air every Friday starting Jan. 29, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
