Mariah Carey said before that she does not know Jennifer Lopez. That was way back in 2000 and has become one of the favorite Internet meme back then. Now, Carey has cleared things up, stating that she was just being honest during the interview.
"All I Want For Christmas" singer Carey was having a foreign TV interview and one question that was asked was, what can she say about Beyonce and Lopez. Carey answered back, that Beyonce was nice and a good writer. For Lopez, she said, "I don't know her." From then on, for several years, that famous answer has been quoted as an insult for Lopez, some even concluded that there was something going on between the two divas, Tech Times reported.
Carey has finally talked about the issue that happened ages ago, 15 years to be exact, in a recent interview that was discussing about gifts that her fans have made for her. She then said about this particular shirt that contained her famous quote. She continued on by sharing the story behind the quote, saying that she did not know "Let's Get Loud" singer Lopez at the time of the interview. She then added that it was not meant to be an insult, it was just an honest answer.
The "Hero" singer Carey also said, according to reports, that she would rather be on stage with a pig than with Lopez. This was proven not to be true at all. In the first place, they have not met each other according to Lopez in another interview with the Huffington Post.
"I don't have a feud against her at all. I know from back in the day, I've read things that she's said about me that were not the greatest, but we have never met. Like, we don't know each other. I think it's kind of from word of mouth of things that have happened in the past that I'm not really aware of. But I don't know," Lopez shared with Andy Cohen about this particular issue back in 2014.
Carey, Nick Cannon's former wife, is just being honest after all.
