Big changes are coming for the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital's doctors as "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 returns in February next year.

Ecumenical News reports that "NCIS: Los Angeles" actor Scott Elrod will be joining the show. He has also worked with executive producer Shonda Rhimes in another hit show, "How To Get Away With Murder." Sources reveal that Elrod will play a new doctor or an intern in the show, but the network has not confirmed anything regarding that matter.

The site also reports that there will be changes in the different romantic relationships in the hospital when the show returns. It was said that fans can expect major changes between lAmelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) after their conflicts in the first part of the season.

Aside from that, it was also said that fans should watch out how Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Andrew's (Giacomo Gianniotti) relationship will grow in the show. Fans will also get to see if Jo (Camilla Luddington) would accept Alex's (Justin Chambers) proposal.

In other news, Christian Post reports that in an interview with Rhimes, she revealed that the upcoming episodes will also show how Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will evolve, and fans will find out which path she will choose for herself as she makes major changes in her life since her husband's death. In the first part of the season, Meredith has been struggling with Derek's sister Amelia, and they have had numerous conflicts.

Rhimes also said that the return episode may not be so emotional unlike the mid-season finale, but it will still be great. She revealed that they had a good time filming it and she described the comeback episode as "powerful."

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 will air episode 9 on Feb.  11, 2016 on ABC.
