If it wasn't for former NFL tight end Jeremey Shockey, the New York Giants as well as the New Orleans Saints wouldn't be waving their Lombardi Trophy around these days, and it seems that he is not only winning at the sport, but is also building a strong real estate portfolio. The American football player just listed his Miami Beach, Florida penthouse for $3 million, Craig Donofrio of Realtor reports.
The 2,582-square-foot unit is perfect for those who love the beach, as it is located at the western edge of Miami Beach. How about waking up to the nice cool sea breeze and the gushing sound of the water touching the shore? Sitting atop the 35-story Waverly condominium complex, the 35-year-old's penthouse suite has three bedrooms and three full bathrooms and offers a mesmerizing and breathtaking view of downtown Miami.
Shockey's career in football started at the University of Miami, where he was awarded a first-team All-American player and even bagging one national championship with the Hurricanes in 2001. In 2002, Shockey got the Rookie of the Year title as well as an All-Pro during his first season in New York. However, he was injured late in the season when the Giants made it to the Superbowl XLII in 2007 and ended up victorious.
He then moved to New Orleans where he scored a touchdown in the Saint's win in Super Bowl XLIV, bounced over to California for one season and retired from the sport after the 2011 season.
Shockey must be a patriotic American - you can't ignore that bald eagle and American flag tattoo - and one who loves the real estate market. If he makes the sale, he will be making double of the $1.45 million that he bought the penthouse for back in 2005.
The Miami Beach, Florida penthouse is on the market under Reid Heidenry of Sotheby's International Realty as the listing agent.
Jeremy Shockey has a net worth of $15 million.
