Game developer Nintendo has announced on Wednesday that its popular video game "Super Smash Bros. 4" will have two new playable characters. The game's director Masahiro Sakurai has officially confirmed that playable characters Bayonetta and Corrin will join the fighting game, a report from iDigital Times said.
"Much like Robin and Wii Fit trainer, Corrin players can choose to play as a male or female version of the protagonist, both of whom perform exactly the same. Though the character does wield a sword, they aren't purely another "swordsman." In addition to swinging their blade, Corrin can turn into a dragon, or transform portions of their body in order perform powerful attacks with dragon-y appendages. Bayonetta, on the other hand, brings to the table unique abilities based on her abilities in the franchise of the same name. That means a lot of gunplay, demonic apparitions, and, of course, Witch Time," Shoryuken said.
According to Video Games Blogger, the company has made a final video presentation that is dedicated to the "Super Smash Bros." that will be rolled out to both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. It was said that Sakurai has shared essential details about Cloud Strife, the playable character from "Final Fantasy VII" which was previously announced by the company.
Aside from the game's new playable characters, Nintendo has also announced that the game will receive a new costumes DLC. Listed below are the list of costumes announced by the company during the final presentation, according to Gamespot.
- Geno (Super Mario RPG)
- Chocobo Hat (Final Fantasy)
- Bionic Armor
- Takamaru (game unreleased in US)
- Ashley (Wario Ware)
- Gil (Tower of Druaga)
- Tails and Knuckles (Sonic)
"Nintendo also confirmed that Bayonetta, Corrin, and Cloud are getting Amiibo figures, too. More information, including pricing and release dates, will be announced later," the report said.
