"It was excellent!" Bloomberg's Paul Allen said after watching the latest installment of the Star Wars franchise "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which has just officially opened in theaters in Australia.
Allen said in a report on the Bloomberg website that he thoroughly enjoyed the movie. "I don't want to give away too much or give any plot spoilers, but it heavily references the original trilogy... It was a J.J. Abrams love letter to the original trilogy.
"Fans loved the film, Allen said. He said he spoke to a number of fans as he exited the cinema and "every single one of them said they absolutely loved the film... And now they cannot wait for Episode 8."
He said he even overheard some people saying that they are planning to turn around and head back in to the cinema. He said they have just finished the midnight screening, and it's not even 4:00 a.m. yet in Sydney, but he's already heard people who "want a second taste." Allen said fans can certainly do that since they are given plenty of chances to view the film. He said in HOYTS alone, 7,000 sesssions are being planned for the opening week.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the seventh installment in the Star Wars saga. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams and cast of the film includes the three actors in the original trilogy: Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia but is now known as General Leia in the new film, Mark Hamill who is known as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars universe, and Harrison Ford who plays Han Solo; and newcomers Daisy Ridley who plays an important role in the new movie as Rey, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver. J.J. Abrams co-wrote the film's story with Lawrence Kasdan, who also wrote the original Star Wars trilogy.
