The official trailer for the third and last installment of the trilogy of the hit racing anime Initial D entitled "Shin Gekijo-ban Initial D: Legend 3 -Mugen" (New Initial D the Movie Legend 3: Half Awake, Half Asleep) has been released through the official website of the Initial D Trilogy.
Crunchyroll reported that the trailer of the new Initial D anime film features the theme song "Chase for Dream," which was performed by 26-year-old anison singer, Tatsuyuki Kobayashi.
The final film in the trilogy features the battle between the protagonist, Takumi Fujiwara, and his opponent, Ryosuke Takahashi. The new film will be shown in Japan on Feb. 6, 2016. Nine selected theaters will offer an immersive sensory 4DX experience with screenings. Buyers of pre-order tickets are going to have a Redsuns Sticker.
According to Anime News Network, the film trilogy of the hit racing anime series Initial D is based from the beginning of the story of Shuuichi Shigeno's original car-racing manga. The story revolves around Takumi Fujiwara, a gas station attendant during the day and a delivery boy for his father's tofu shop during late nights. Using his father's modified Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno and his driving skills, Fujiwara became the best amateur road racer on Mt. Akina's highway. Due to this, Fujiwara received challenges from racing groups all over the Gunma Prefecture.

The first film in the new film trilogy, Shin GekijÅ-ban Initial D Legend 1 -Kakusei- (New Initial D the Movie Legend 1: Awakening), opened in Japan in August 2014, while the second film, Shin GekijÅ-ban Initial D Legend 2 -TÅsÅ- (New Initial D the Movie Legend 2: Racer), opened on May 23 of this year.
