When Hideo Kojima opened a new studio, Kojima Productions, he partnered it with Sony for the release of its first independent game, which can be played exclusively on Sony's PlayStation 4 console.

Sony wasted no time and officially announced that they've formed a partnership with the newly created Kojima Productions studio. The employment contract of Hideo Kojima with Konami has officially ended, which means the agreement with Sony is a signed deal.

Global CEO Andrew House, president of Sony, has said that he is excited with the partnership and the work that they will do together.

Hideo Kojima has been a great part of PlayStation's history, and the company is delighted that Kojima chose to bring his brand new project to life in partnership with PlayStation. Sony looks forward to working with Kojima on an exciting new game, and welcomes him to the PlayStation family.

According to Game Rant, the partnership marks the beginning of a new adventure for Hideo Kojima, and it indicates that the game will also be available to PCs.

What is more exciting is that the new game of Kojima is completely original IP.  "A game that will become a compelling franchise," it says in the promotions, and it also shows that Kojima already has plans for the game and the franchise's future.

There's a little speculation of the reborn Kojima Productions, that it does have an official website now where it features a letter from Hideo Kojima himself that makes heavy reference to the book Homo Ludens by Huizinga, which hints the concept of "play" within the culture.

It has been confirmed that Hideo Kojima has officially left Konami and opened Kojima Productions, a new studio to collaborate with Sony on a console exclusive for the PlayStation, as reported by Video Gamer.

The announcement of Kojima's departure from Konami was made following a dispute between the creator and the company execs. His name was also removed from various Konami products, which include Metal Gear Solid 5 and Zone of the Enders.
