Walt Disney World changes its security policy but not all fans are happy! The "happiest place on earth" is forced to change some of its policies to be able to prevent violence inside the park's premises, a report from E! Online said.

After the recent terror attacks in Paris and in San Bernardino, California, Walt Disney World, as well as Sea World, Universal Orlando, Disneyland and Universal Studios have decided to improve its security throughout the holidays. Metal detectors have been installed at the entrance of the park and as a part of enhancing safety inside the premises; toy guns and adult costumes over the age of 14 have also been banned. These measures are also enforced to discourage gun violence as well.

The favorite theme park made its drastic decision after a bulletin was issued by the Department of Homeland Security. The message said that they were "especially concerned that terrorist-inspired individuals and homegrown violent extremists may be encouraged or inspired to target public events or places."

Disney has so increased the number of security personnel and deputies in their park and added specially trained canine units to patrol the park. A statement from Disney was released regarding the increased security, "We continually review our comprehensive approach to security and are implementing additional security measures, as appropriate."

Fans of the popular theme park understood why these measures are being enforced yet some are not too happy about the changes.

  • From Allison Brinsley @abrinsley77 - @Disney Thank you. My husband & I take our sons to Disneyland every year. If we are going to be a nation of guns, we need metal detectors.
  • Kristi Gibson @Kristig123 - As much as I hate this, I am glad that they are doing this... As of Today parks have metal detectors, more... fb.me/4RtjopCRX.
  • Denise @rubylips80 - Metal detectors up at @WaltDisneyWorld, this is what happens when an idiot tries to bring in a gun. Thanks for keeping us safe Disney!
  • Ryan @RyanJohn_ - I'm honestly surprised it took this long to get metal detectors at Disney theme parks. Nobody wants them, but they are needed.

Walt Disney World expects more visitors this holiday season which makes it even more important to improve its security measures.
