The Memphis Grizzlies have been in an inconsistent pace this season. With wins and 13 losses, the supposed to be contender is having a hard time gaining momentum this regular season. That is why changes are being made within the rotation and plays of the Grizzlies. According to yibada, "ESPN reported that Randolph, who is the embodiment of Memphis' 'Grit N' Grind' style that has symbolized the team for years, together with wing man Tony Allen will be [have been] moved to the bench and will be replaced by Matt Barnes and Courtney Lee in the starting unit."
With the said change, it is also being rumoured that Randolph would be traded to other teams. Randolph who has been lately coming off the bench is said to be traded to Toronto Raptors. According to the report of Cheat Sheet, "Memphis Grizzles' big man Zach Randolph is one of the stalwart names that are being considered to be moved in the upcoming mid-season trade deadline. A suitable roster piece for the Raptors play-off push."
If indeed true, then such move would be very beneficial for the Raptors. Their interest for Randolph would surely fill in the gap left by their center player who was injured last November 20. Movienewsguide detailed that;
"The Toronto Raptors have been without starting center Jonas Valanciunas since the 20th of November when the 7′ 0" Lithuanian exited midway in the Raptors game against the Lakers due to a fractured hand. His absence however has in a way created a void in the offense for the Raptors despite the considerable firepower between hard-nosed pointguard Kyle Lowry and shooting guard Demar DeRozan."
The possible transfer of Randolph to the Raptors would surely boost their line-up. The presence of the veteran player would surely be an impact this mid-season, and will surely help their campaign all throughout this season.
