Christmas time is around the corner and hoverboards are being banned. This may not sound like anything good but it's for the safety and well-being of the consumers. There are already few fire incidents reported with poor quality boards. So much for being a hot item, looks like it could literally cause a hot board that could set your house on fire.
Hoverboards was introduced by the movie "Back to the Future," a 1980's film predicting the era of 2015, our current year. The negative side is that it has been deemed dangerous and illegal in some parts of the world. According to some reports it is not safe play or ride on hoverboards in the street and is dangerous on the pavement. This self balancing little board on wheels so has to be charged in order to be used.
According to Razor CEO Carlton Calvin, their sales of Hovertrax have doubled since they began selling items starting December of 2015. He just did not disclose their sales figure. He claims their brand of products are high quality and tested.
We suppose the main reason for the ban was only for the safety of our people in the community. Good quality hover boards have a price range of $600 - $700 , while those poor quality ones are said to just cost around $200. Amazon reportedly removed 97% of Swagway brand of their hover board products from their website. The brands Razor, Hover X and Jeston are still on their list. Retailers like Overstock and other small business who use to sell these items have been financially hurt with the hoverboard ban that caused the decline in their sales and taking them off their shelf. Amazon however was given praises for making the move.
