ABC Family will release its adaptation of the popular Cassandra Clare's novel series "The Mortal Instruments," titled "Shadow Hunters." The series is set to premiere on Jan. 12, 2016 with four TV spots already released for fans to enjoy.

The "Shadowhunter" TV series will feature Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" book-series which features the life of 18-year-old Clary Fray, who suddenly finds out that she belongs to the mystical bloodlines of Shadowhunters. She will be thrown into the world of hunting demons together with his best friend Simon, who is secretly in love with her. She'll meet Jace, Isabelle and Alec, who are young "Shadowhunters" secretly living in a church camouflaged in the center of the city, Coming Soon reports.

The plot of the series will not be a continuation of the events after the movie that was released back in 2013 and featured Jamie Campbell Bower and Lilly Collins, "The Mortal instruments: City of Bones." Alberto Rosende, who plays Simon, shared that the plot of the "Shadowhunter" series will go deeper into the book and the movie and will tackle things that were not really explored in the 2013 film, Fashion & Style reports.

"We get to see the world in a new way, and we get to show the fans in a deeper sense because now everything gets to come to life, and you get to investigate these parts that maybe Cassandra Clare didn't have time to," Rosende continued.

Dominic Sherwood and Katherine McNamara will play as Jace Wayland and Clary Fray, respectively. Both stars claim that the series will be interpreted differently from the movie. Everything will be kept fresh and their own reincarnation of the series will make it hard for book readers to predict what's coming next in the series.

Vampires, fairies, warlocks, demons and angels will be gracing the small screen of ABC Family this 2016. The "Shadowhunters is produced under Constantin Film and will air on ABC on Jan. 12, 2016.
