"19 Kids and Counting" alum Anna Duggar was recently slammed by critics for allegedly forgiving her husband Josh amid the latter's sexual molestation and cheating scandals.
According to InTouch Weekly, Duggar visited Josh at the Reformers Unanimous and asked him if the rumors that he cheated on her with porn star Danica Dillon were true. Josh denied the rumors and said that people are lying about his deeds because he initially confessed to sexually molesting five young girls as a teenager.
Duggar decided to believe her husband, and she took his side on the issue. Even though it was heartbreaking, Duggar decided to exert an effort to fix their marriage.
Meanwhile, there are some rumors that Josh's parents Michelle and Jim Bob have been influencing Duggar to forgive their son. Just recently, the entire Duggar clan got together for Thanksgiving, and Michelle and Jim Bob "cornered" their daughter-in-law. Michelle and Jim Bob were also the ones who convinced Duggar to visit Josh in rehab.
In other news, Duggar will speak about Josh's scandals in the upcoming second episode of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On." In the exclusive clip released by Entertainment Tonight, Duggar said that the only thing she could do at that time was to cling to her faith.
"How could this happen in our marriage? Josh is my first love, he's my one and only. I didn't know what to do. I knew we needed help. My only hope was to cling to my faith... If I went off of what I was feeling, I would turn a mess into a disaster," she said.
"It was such a betrayal for a spouse to go through what we're walking through. It was a betrayal for those that call themselves Christian. To vow before God to be loyal to each other, and that loyalty was broken," she said.
"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" will air on TLC on Dec. 20.
