Production for season 2 of "Mr. Robot" has officially started, and fans are now reportedly waiting for updates on who is set to return for the new season.
Headlines and Global News reports that the USA Network's sci-fi hit is now filming its second season after the show's successful Season 1 run with 3 Golden Globe nominations, including those for actors Rami Malek and Christian Slater. USA Network President Chris McCumber revealed in an interview that they are very excited to see people happy with their work, given that competition in the small screen can be intense.
It was earlier reported that show creator Sam Esmail will direct all 10 episodes for Season 2, and McCumber said that he thinks that Esmail is the best person to direct the series because he has a specific vision which could capture the audience.
Meanwhile, Breathe Cast reports that Slater, who plays the role of Edward Alderson in the show, will come back for Season 2 even though his character has been killed off in Season 1. Some speculations suggest that he will appear in flashback scenes, while some think that there will be a glorious resurrection scene for him in Season 2.
In other news, Esmail revealed in his earlier interview with Deadline that things will be exciting in "Mr. Robot" Season 2. It was earlier reported that although Mr. Robot is just a figment of Malek's character Elliot's imagination,in season 2, Mr. Robot can now interact with other people in his life.
Esmail also teased the possibility of Elliot crossing roads with Elliot Villar's character, drug lord Fernando Vera. It can be recalled that in the end of Season 1, Vera hurt an important person in Eliot's life when he raped Frankie Shaw's ShaylaNico.
As of writing, there is still no official premiere schedule for "Mr. Robot" Season 2, but it is speculated to return in summer of 2016.
