Former Los Angeles Lakers power forward and now free agent forward Carlos Boozer reportedly met with the Milwaukee Bucks this week regarding a potential deal.
Boozer had a meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks coach Jason Kidd and general manager John Hammond in Los Angeles, according to Yahoo Sports. The meeting came following the Bucks' devastating consecutive double-digit defeats to the Lakers and Clippers this week.
Milwaukee's center Greg Monroe remains sidelined due to a sprained MCL in his right knee, and the team is in need of additional reserve frontcourt contributions aside from John Henson.
The Milwaukee Bucks are 10-17, entering Thursday night. They are in the 13th place in the super-competitive Eastern Conference. However, they are still better than Brooklyn Nets with 7-18 and the Philadelphia 76ers with 1-26, as reported by Fansided.
Kidd is a former NBA superstar and maybe has a great respect for Boozer. Boozer played collegiately at Duke and starred for both Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls before becoming an asset to the LA Lakers in recent season.
The Milwaukee could use an effective veteran like Boozer and the team may choose to bring him aboard to try to save their season.
Boozer, 34, is a two-time NBA All-Star and has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers. He has an average of 16.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in 13 NBA seasons.
Based on a report from NBC Sports, Boozer can still help the Milwaukee Bucks on offense. He averaged 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds with a shooting percentage of 49.9 from the field in 71 games for the Lakers last season. He has a player efficiency rating of 16.8 which is above the league average.
Although he is still a real threat with physical strength to play inside, he is not good in defense. He may hurt the Milwaukee Bucks on that part.
