For the last several months, Konami made sure that gamers could not download Silent Hills' P.T. version ever again. Thanks to a brave fan on the Gamexeon forums known as "orangelupa," gamers can now re-download the Silent Hills playable teaser on PlayStation 4 consoles.
In order for the fans to re-download P.T., an unofficial means and third-party software will be used to do so. This means that those who will do it can put their PSN account at risk for corruption, or worse, will be banned outright. To avoid this, gamers should follow the instructions in the video that they can view on the site, as reported by Gamerant news.
However, fans who can obtain using the process in the clip are those who own the demo prior to its removal, in order to have the opportunity to re-download it. Basically, in order for the process to work properly, PSN accounts of gamers had to have been authorized before Konami's decision to remove it from the network.
If some fans will not be able to download the P.T. due to the failed relationship of Konami and Hideo Kojima, it is indeed unfortunate for them.
But there's still the possibility that fans will still be able to play a horror-themed title, with the new Kojima studio making exclusive games for PlayStation.
Even if Silent Hills has been discontinued, fans can still look forward to the untitled Hideo Kojima game that will come out in the future for the PlayStation 4.
And although the Silent Hills game has been canceled, fans can still download the playable teaser using a method discovered by a fan on the Gamexeon forum, but it will only work for fans who have downloaded the original game on the PlayStation Store.
Gamezone news said that the plan to cancel the Silent Hills in April was the idea of Konami, with a collaboration of Kojima and co-director, Guillermo Del Toro. So, in May, P.T. was removed entirely from the PlayStation Store, with the assurance from Konami that there's no way to re-download it.
