Dave Dombrowski, the new Red Sox president, has recently purchased a home worth $3.95 million in Brookline, MA, near Fenway Park.
Dombrowski's six-bedroom home sits on a half-acre and is in close proximity to civilizations but still feels like a retreat, listing agent Merlin Rosenblatt of Longwood Residential says. "Shopping, schools, bike paths-you have everything, but the landscaping is set up to feel secluded," said the agent.
The listing agent says that the home of Dombrowski is one of her "favorite properties," and it's easy to see why. The kitchen features custom walnut cabinets which are paired with white countertops and a breakfast nook overlooking the enormous backyard. The master bedroom of the home features a luxurious en suite bath with ceramic marble walls, as reported by the Realtor news.
"The house has a beautiful open floor plan," says Rosenblatt. "When you come into the space, it's completely open."
Before being released from his contract in August, Dombrowski had served 14 years with the Detroit Tigers. During his stay with the Tigers as president and chief executive officer, he oversaw a run of three consecutive ALCS appearances and five playoffs appearances - a big improvement from the team's average performance before his arrival. After Dombrowski was freed from the Tigers, just after two weeks, he was hired by the Red Sox.
According to the report of ESPN news, it was announced Tuesday night by the Boston Red Sox that they hired David Dombrowski as the team's president of baseball operations, two weeks after he was freed by the Detroit Tigers.
"I expect to be in my office after the press conference," Dombrowski said. "I'm excited. This is a great opportunity. Boston is a tremendous baseball city, the Red Sox are a great franchise, and they have some of the best young talents in the game, both at the big-league level and in their minor-league system."
Dombrowski will be reunited with John W. Henry, who owned the Florida Marlins for four years up to 1998 when Dombrowski was there.
