This literal ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi Sweden is reminiscent of the Disney box office animated film 'Frozen' (cue music, Let it go, let it go I'm one with the wind and sky!).

This unbelievable winter structure in Sweden has been popping up every Christmas for the last 26 years. It is built out of snow from the River Torn, and is hand-sculpted which yields to different designs each Christmas season.

About 4,000 tons of ice and snow were used to build this fairytale-like lodging. There are 55 rooms including 18 posh suites sculpted by talented artists. The rooms range from their standard ones, which promise a good night sleep in -5 degrees, to elaborate ones like their Northern lights, Art, and Deluxe suites. The Northern lights room has a combination of ice sculpture as well as light installation that resemble fascinating northern lights. The art suites features original 3-dimensional ice art pieces incorporated in the room. The deluxe rooms are the most expensive among all the units in the Ice hotel. It is double the size of the other suites and aside from the detailed designed carefully sculpted by artists, it also has posh heated sauna and bathroom.  Prices start at $300 for regular rooms, and up to $1000 for deluxe suites, with amenities such as heated bathroom and sauna.

Surely, staying in a literal ice cold room can be a little intimidating, owners of this hotel make sure their guests are cozy and comfortable by giving them guidelines as to what to bring so that they could enjoy their stay. Also, the lodging provides sleeping bags which would keep the travellers warm especially at night.

Aside from the very unique experience of sleeping in an ice hotel, you may also choose to include their winter adventures in your package. This may include a guided tour of their hotel, ice sculpting, and viewing the Northern lights.
