Former One Direction member Zayn Malik seems to be burning his boy band bridges as he ventures in his solo career. Malik says that he wants to make 'real music,' which is kind of a blow towards the existing members of 1D.

Reports say that former mentor Simon Cowell is pissed that he made rude remarks toward his former bandmates' music and that he believes that he'll come around and change his opinion about this.

Cowell said "I think once he has had a chance to reflect on everything he will probably reconsider what he's said because it was a very, very democratic process in the band." He thinks that his comments were disrespectful toward all the people who have worked with their albums, as well as his co-members who also wrote a lot of songs for them.

The ex member said that his creativity while in the band was limited, and that he just simply fell out of love with the whole thing because of it. He says in the interview, "If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as f***, so they could use that version." Cowell believes that Zayn's rants towards making better music are just petty, and that he has bigger issues to deal with.

People are now on the side of the 'X-Factor' judge, as the general consensus towards Zayn's comments was less than receptive. Is Zayn going on a downward spiral after this? Although there is no concrete news yet about his future in music, he is said to be working with several producers and is working on a very different sound, as to what his fans are used to back when he was still in the band.
