Matt Damon has wanted to play a superhero role, but it is just one specific role, played by his best friend Ben Affleck, the "Daredevil." He also does not see himself playing one in the future.

Talking to New York Daily News, he said he dreamed of playing "Daredevil." It was offered to him before but he declined. He said, "For us it was always Daredevil-that's the comic we read when we were kids. But when that one came along (in 2003) I chickened out, because I couldn't tell. I hadn't seen the director [Mark Steven Johnson's] work and I didn't know. So I just said, 'No.' Ben was like, 'I gotta do it."

He added that, "I think [Affleck] approached it the right way, which is, 'Can I make a great superhero movie?' rather than, 'Do I want to play a superhero?' I'd consider it if the right thing came along."

It seems that it worked out well for Affleck because that's how he met his wife, Jennifer Garner. However, Affleck was not really too thrilled about how the result of the movie, although it ended up very well.

Damon mentioned that if Christopher Nolan approaches him and offer to do "Daredevil," he would definitely be in but it will probably not happen because Nolan works with Warner Brothers as a director and producer and doing so would be the ultimate form of betrayal.

On the other note, he sat down with Variety to discuss the progress of his latest "Bourne" movie, and his "The Martian" film. He said Bourne is going well and they are about halfway through. They are currently on break this month. They have shot in England, Berlin and will do the third act in Las Vegas.

What does he think about the latest Batman film which Affleck starring on, "And I hear ["Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"] is good. I haven't seen it yet but he's seen a rough cut and I think he's very pleased. But no, I don't know that there are any comic book characters left."

At the moment, Damon and Affleck are still working together on the "Project Greenlight."
